Application Process

Application Periods

Newbold Legacy Trust will be accepting applications for 6 weeks from Friday 1st March until Monday 15th April, 12pm (midday).

See the Grants Awarded page for details of the successful applicants of the Trust’s first application period, which ran for 5 weeks from Monday 22nd May until Friday 23rd June 2023.

Shortlisted Applicants

  • The trustees will assess all applications and make a shortlist. The shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited to meet with NLT trustees for a discussion.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to sign a Grant Agreement before release of funds, and will be required to submit progress reports and a final report at the end of the grant period.
  • Where possible, the trustees aim to finalise the awarding of grants within three months of the closing date for applications.
  • There will be a cap on the total amount of funds awarded.

Grant Terms & Conditions

NLT will agree the specific terms and conditions of the grant in the form of a Grant Agreement to be signed by the recipient prior to the funds being granted.

Of utmost importance is that funds granted by NLT must be used to advance the purpose stated in the application form.

NLT is keen to ensure successful outcomes, so timely reporting on the use of the funds and the expected outcomes of the grant will be mutually agreed prior to disbursement of the funds. Financial oversight will be agreed, as well as a schedule of disbursement of the grant.

The trustees will be forced to terminate any agreement regarding the schedule of disbursements if the recipient breaches the terms of the Grant Agreement.
